Noddy, the World's Tallest Horse

"Noddy just accidently grew. When Noddy was a yearling he was already as tall as his sire, standing 18.2hh. Now aged 6, he stands at 20.1hh and has filled out in muscle. He weighs around 1.5 tonnes." said owner Jane Greenman.

"With a horse of this magnitude it has been hard to find tack and transport to fit him. Also bedding was a problem until I used 'eco animal bedding.' Now there is no dust and the stables don't smell of urine either. The cardboard absorbs the urine and allows the area to breath to dissipate the smells."

The Suffolk Punch is massive in bone, so weight is also a factor. Although not as tall as Noddy, the Shire Horse, Jane says the Suffolk comes with similar issues to keep them healthy and sound. Nash is only 4 years and still growing. He stands 17.2hh and will probably mature around 18hh but his body weight will muscle out to well over 1 ton - so it's important to keep him sound.
